The Color Guard is an integral part of the Mighty Marching Tigers, adding visual impact, emotion, and storytelling through choreographed movement and equipment work. As part of the full marching ensemble, the Color Guard helps bring each field show to life by interpreting the music with precision, elegance, and dramatic flair.

During the fall season, the Color Guard performs alongside the instrumentalists at football games, competitions, and community events. Members use flags, rifles, sabres, and dance to enhance the overall visual design of the show, contributing significantly to the band’s success.
Students in the Color Guard participate in all Marching Band activities, including band camp, weekly rehearsals, and weekend competitions. Training focuses on dance technique, equipment handling, form coordination, and expressive performance. Whether performing an emotional ballad or an energetic opener, the Guard’s presence adds power and polish to every show.
The Color Guard is open to all students including those with no prior experience in music or performance. Auditions for the Color Guard are held in the spring for the fall marching band season. All training is provided, and new members are welcomed into a strong, supportive team environment. This ensemble is perfect for students interested in dance, theatre, or simply being part of an exciting and high-profile performance group.
Joining the Color Guard offers students a unique opportunity to build confidence, develop performance skills, and be part of one of the most spirited and visible organizations on campus.
