The Oscar Smith High School Band is more than just an extracurricular activity, it’s a vibrant community of nearly 130 young musicians and performers learning teamwork, discipline, and creative expression.  The Band is one of the most successful organizations at Oscar Smith High School, and has been throughout the school’s history since 1994. 

But delivering top‐notch music education doesn’t come cheap. We are fortunate to have the support of the Oscar Smith administration and our school district. Between Chesapeake community support, booster supplements, and student fundraisers, we are able to accomplish many things.

From purchasing and maintaining instruments (especially larger or specialty pieces that can cost thousands of dollars) to providing quality music, rehearsal materials, quality educators, and unique performance opportunities, our expenses far exceed what school budgets and student fees alone can cover. Your financial support will help ensure that every student, regardless of their family’s ability to pay, has the instruments and resources they need to succeed.

Without steady donations from our amazing community supporters, students risk missing out on valuable performance opportunities that both challenge them musically and foster lifelong friendships.
